WELCOME TO HEALTH PROMOTION

The UHC Health Promotion Department is home to many student support services designed to advance the well-being of our students and the UGA Community.

THE FONTAINE CENTER

We provide a comprehensive menu of prevention, early intervention, counseling, and recovery support services for alcohol and other substance misuse and any student impacted by interpersonal violence.

WELL-BEING & PREVENTION PROGRAMS

Including healthy relationships, mental well-being, stress, sleep, wellness coaching, substance misuse prevention, and interpersonal violence prevention.

    Event Location: The Jill and Marvin Willis Center for Writing

    Are you a graduate or professional school student, looking to connect with other students working on dissertations, theses, academic projects, or research papers? Register for Grad Student Group Coaching, to stay motivated and share strategies for writing productivity and time management with other busy graduate students.

    Join us for a 30-minute group coaching session to discuss writing goals and strategies and then stay for an open 1.5 hour independent writing lab to work on your projects! Snacks will be provided!

    The group meets in the Willis Writing Center in Park Hall, Rm 66, on Fridays from 11am - 1pm. The last meeting of the semester takes place the week before Reading Day.

    (Please note that the group does not provide one-on-one writing coaching or academic coaching, however a wellness coach will be available to help you make an action plan for acquiring additional support.)

    Learn how to cook a healthy meal with one of the dietitians the University Health Center in the Nutrition Kitchen. FYOS approved!

    Call 706-542-8690 to register. $5 per class for students who have paid the health fee or $10 for non-fees paid students. Only available to UGA students. If you sign-up and do not end up attending the cooking class, you will be charged the class fee. If you cannot attend, please call remove yourself from the list so that another student can participate.

    This workshop is a 2-part series designed to teach the core processes of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. At times, our mood takes over and determines how we act.
